Bring artwork to life with animation can be used on multiple streaming platforms to help capture the attention of those browsing for their next listening experience.
For the release of The Pixies Beneath the Eyrie Type40 were asked by BMG to animate the album cover for use on Apple Music and Spotify.
Beneath the Eyrie was released in 2019 and was one of the first projects that Type40 was asked to develop some animation for using the album pack shot. Given the abstract nature of the artwork it was decided to give the animation a gentle swaying in nature and make almost as if it was swimming in an unseen see. The whole animation loops seamlessly, returning back to the starting position of the original artwork, which was a requirement for both the platforms it was developed for. As a small part in the overall campaign motion artwork is an easy way to bring another level of design to the marketing assets being used.
