Creating tv Adverts for a restrospective requires some thought and creativity.
Working with Universal Music Ireland and Blacklight Music, Type40 created the ad based around a series of photographs, album covers and TV show footage.
The challenge is always to make something visually interesting, but luckily for us we were given a wealth of tickets, photos, album and single covers and memorabilia for the Stockton’s Wing project. Have a received a folder full of assets we set about creating an ad that could communicate the tracks on the album and the look and feel of the band.
Making the bones
The idea of creating a collage of the photos, covers and video clips we had came quite quickly and it was important to make sure we moved the camera around quickly to keep things interesting.
The old footage was put in sync to the newly remastered audio and a sound bed was created using 3 recognisable tracks. We then worked on the background to each scene, layering the images we had to create a background where each time you saw it you might see something different.
Different strap lines were added so more information about the product could be displayed on screen in a way that was easy for the viewer to read. We also added an overall title, so people would know who and what we were talking about.
The last step was to add a series of different end cards for each of the retailers who were taking the album and a generic label one, that could be used where a particular retailer wasn’t involved.
